Jesse (“J.R.”) Tyler is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago John Marshall Law School, where he was member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution society and Trial advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Counsel. He is also an alumni of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, where he majored in Communication and minored in Sociology. During law school, J.R. worked at the University’s Veterans Legal Clinic advocating for veterans and prior service members at the Veterans Administrative Courts and the Northern District of Illinois: U.S. District Court.
After law school, J.R began working as a personal injury and civil rights litigator in Chicago focusing on catastrophic injury and death claims, product liability, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse. He has litigated numerous civil rights claims, including those from prisoners in custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections and against the City of Chicago and Chicago Police Department. J.R. currently serves as a Infantry Officer in of the Illinois Army National Guard having attained the rank of Captain. He joins DLG having recently returned from deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
